The SGA at Marbury High School launched its first annual “Christmas Connection—The Big Give,” during Christmas 2015. As a group, the goal was to provide local Autauga county families with ten days worth of meals during the winter break, gifts for the children and parents, and other necessities for each of the families in need. The organization ran a canned food drive from November 30 to December 16, 2015. Enough food for two Marbury families was collected to feed them over the duration of the Christmas break. SGA students also collected a total of $832.00 which provided Christmas gifts and necessary items for one local Autauga County family. With the help of guidance and administration, one family was selected. On December 16, the student officers of SGA went to Wal-Mart for a shopping spree to find gifts and necessities for the children and parents of our adopted family. On December 19th, SGA President Austin Green, SGA Representative Wayne Lawery, along with SGA Sponsor, Ms. Meza personally delivered the bundles of food and wrapped toys/gifts to our adopted family---thank you for everyone that helped make this outreach a success!!
