Description
Dedicated staff will train family physicians in a non-competitive setting to provide high quality, patient-centered care for all ages in their community. The University of Vermont has successfully launched the Champlain Valley Family Medicine Residency Program, a community-based program at the UVM Health Network - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital. This program has acheived ACGME accreditation effective July 1, 2015.
Our new Family Medicine Residency Program will train family physicians in a non-competitive setting to excel in the leadership of high-quality and high value, patient-centered care for people of all ages in their communities. Residents will benefit from a dedicated faculty and the opportunity to mentor medical students from the University of Vermont at a thriving community hospital in Plattsburgh, NY.

Tonight we explored "Myths in Medicine" as a precursor to tomorrow's EXPLORE Primary Care Conference. Dr. Winfield did a fantastic job hosting, and there was much to be learned by all our panelists: Ann Watts, Registered Dietician; Angela Alphonso, Athletic Trainer; Dr. Michael Kanevsky, Family Medicine and Integrative Medicine; and Dr. Lindsey Wilhelm, a Family Medicine Osteopath and Master of Public Health!

JOIN US FOR MATCH DAY MARCH 17 Please join the Family Medicine Residency Team on Friday, March 17th in the Main Lobby for "MATCH DAY. “ After receiving 2,100 applications for only its second class, the Residency will welcome four new residents on St. Patrick‘s Day. The Shenanigans will begin at 12:45 pm and the resident unveiling will be at approximately 1 pm. Wear green to show your support for our Family Medicine Residents. The success of our Residency is the result of a collective commitment by the residency team, staff, and physicians here and across the Network to provide residents with a robust experience. The Residency was created three years ago in partnership with the University of Vermont Medical Center and the Larner School of Medicine to address our area’s chronic shortage of primary care providers. Together, we’re not only addressing a critical health care need in our community, we’re changing lives.
