Ventilation Training Firefighters perform vertical ventilation with specialized saws in an effort to allow the heat, gases and smoke to escape the structure. This allows much safer conditions for firefighters to perform searches and extinguish the fire.

Milwee Station Construction Begins – Road closures scheduled Construction on the Milwee Lift Station, located at 1212 SE 5th Street, has begun. Work on the project is scheduled for approximately three months, barring any weather or unforeseen issues. The project will create road closures for residents and travelers through this area until the beginning of September. “The road closure is scheduled for seventy-five days; however, it will be contingent on the material that is dug up,” says Paul Kite, Assistant Director of Utilities. “Once the type of soil has been established, we will have a clearer idea of the duration of the road closure.” Residents who reside in the 100 block of Milwee Street will need to detour via County Road Y to gain access to their property (see map below). “We know it can be a hassle for residents in the area,” said Kite. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and are working with the construction company to have the work completed as quickly as possible.” If you have any questions about Milwee Lift Station or the closure, contact Paul Kite at 291-1225 or pkite@plainviewtx.org.
