In partnership with the McDougal Graduate Student Life at Yale, and as part of the West Campus Graduate Student and Post-doc Committee, the Fellows will help to connect scholars at West Campus and across Yale through fun events, while gaining program organization, leadership and communications skills, and enhancing their resumes! Secrets of Old Campus revealed. A bench on Old Campus, memorial to late Yale president A. Bartlett Giamatti, hides some interesting secrets. Yale’s Vinland Map, widely considered a modern forgery, is undergoing new scientific analysis at the Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage. This excellent article by Yale University's Mike Cummings describes the work undertaken by colleagues from the IPCH, Yale University Library and Juniata College to better understand the map's material composition before it goes on view at “The Vikings Begin” exhibition at Mystic Seaport, May 19 through Sept. 30.
