Services at Interfaith include a food pantry, clothing closet, homeless shelter, Food 4 Kids program, thrift store and outreach centers. Interfaith Emergency Services was created in 1983 by the local religious pastoral community who saw a need in Marion County to provide emergency assistance to individuals and families in crisis. With a minimal amount of staff and volunteers, Interfaith reached out in the community to extend love to their neighbor. Over 3 decades later, with the support of local churches, businesses, organizations and individuals, Interfaith continues to bring hope to those in need.

The residents of Ocala Palms hosted a dance as well as their annual craft fundraiser with the proceeds going to Food 4 Kids. Each event had a 50-50 raffle which raised over $1,700. Both winners of the 50-50 raffle donated their money back to Food 4 Kids. We can't say enough about the generosity of the Ocala Palms community. Thank you for your continued support in helping to feed the children of Marion County.

We are so grateful to students and families at East Marion Elementary School for their food drive for our backpack program. During this #SeasonOfSmiles, 3,676 pounds of food from one of the poorest communities in our county is an incredible blessing! Interfaith’s Food 4 Kids backpack program is also supported by donations from AmazonSmile, which helps purchase food for children that would otherwise go hungry on the weekends. By shopping on Amazon and selecting Interfaith has your charity of choice, you too can help support this great program. Click here to sign up: smile.amazon.com/ch/59-2349840

If you are looking for a way to get involved this holiday season this is your chance! The third Tuesday of every month Interfaith Emergency Services puts on a Neighborhood Breakfast. The breakfast is a chance to get to know our friends in the community that often come to Interfaith for help, and usually visit our Homeless Park, located next to our Warehouse. This park is a safe place for them, which is nearly impossible when you live on the street or in a homeless camp. Our breakfast is a way of letting these sweet souls know that people care about them. On December 19, at 9am we are having a Christmas themed breakfast. We have received a donation of a Christmas tree and some decorations to put up that morning. There are two ways you can help: 1. We are looking for a group to bring breakfast items. You can come with something already prepared or drop off something for us to share. Eggs, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, juice, danish, and donuts are examples of items we’ve prepared in the past, and have been very successful. 2. We would like to hand out gifts to our friends that morning. Examples of gifts would be blankets, scarves, hats, gloves, mittens, socks or even a stocking of hygiene items (small bottles of soap, shampoo, lotion, razor, toothbrush, toothpaste and chap stick). If you would to be involved in our Neighborhood Breakfast Program, please let us know. If you are unable to do December, but would like to sign up for another month, they are held each third Tuesday of the month. Please contact Jessica Rodriguez Director of Ministries at 352-629-8868 ext 201.
