Pet Owners + Visitors: The coast is seeing an increased number of stranded sea lions due to leptospirosis, a bacteria that can spread when an animal comes in close contact. It can sicken your pets, and rarely, transfer to humans. If you see a beached sea lion, please keep your pets at a distance (at least 50 ft away) and report them to OSP at 1-800-452-7888.
