Psalm 63:1 David realized he was in the wilderness because he had walked away from God. We too thirst for God, but the enemy has fooled us into believing that worldly and temporary things will quench our thirst! But then we get stressed out, and over worked and we try to relieve that stress by taking vacations/long weekends/shopping sprees or even drinking. Then we find ourselves in debt, and we are even more stressed out and overworked, and it becomes a vicious cycle! We simply exist without ever realizing our wilderness experience! STOP, take time out! Just take time in prayer; seek the Lord and allow Him to speak to your heart. He will show you what has led you into the wilderness; He will be gracious and merciful and when you cry out like David did, you will experience His loving transforming presence!

John 7:37 When you drink of the presence of God.....everything changes! Read Psalm 34:8, "...oh taste and see that the Lord is good..." David had tasted and seen that God was good.....but his sin led him to the wilderness, and in that wilderness he thirsts and cries out to God. Read Psalm 63. We too must thirst for the presence of God in our lives if we want to experience God's power and glory! Take time in prayer and seek Him with all of your heart.

Meeting for all volunteers tonight Tues, Aug 16 at 7:30pm for those who signed up to help out at our BBQ/Blood Drive Sat Aug 27.

Psalm 42:1-2; Psalm 63:1 We are all born with a "thirst for God!" Nothing else can fill that void, no man-made/material/worldly things can fill that thirst within us. We try to fill that thirst by striving for more of things and once we get the raise, get the date, lose the weight, make more money, or get that job we have always wanted, you will still be confronted by your hopelessness/ insecurities/fears/past/flaws/sins and addictions. Realize that man-made worldly thirst quenchers are temporary! There is only ONE permanent thirst quencher and His Name is Jesus. Read John4:14.

Psalm 42:1-2 The definition of thirst in the dictionary is, "an ardent desire," "a craving," "to crave vehemently and urgently." We all thirst for something.....a new job; more money/power; company/acceptance; weight loss; or a thrilling experience. The truth is that when we thirst for something we are willing to do things and go places we do not normally do or go to! We will go the extra mile just as long as we attain that for which we thirst. But there is a thirst that can not be quenched by water or accomplishments, position or money.....that is the thirst for God's presence in our lives....it is God-given! Only God can quench that thirst! Take time in prayer today, especially if you are thirsty and ask the Lord to fill you as only He can!
