Sumi-e Painting (DROP IN CLASS)
Sunday September 8th is the next chance for you to start your journey in the Japanese art of Sumi-e from a truly incredible teacher, Patricia Larkin Green Sensei. Sumi-e is not only beautiful but relaxing to the heart and mind as a contemplative practice. Japanese ink painting, (sumi-e) is the art of painting using brush (fude), ink (sumi) and thin absorbent “rice-paper” (washi). The emphasis is on the process! The class will be introduced to the “Four Treasures” (The ink stick, the ink stone, brush and paper) and each class will begin with a demonstration then guided instruction on how to paint “The Four Gentlemen” (The lessons introduce the student to the four basic strokes groups). All you need to start is yourself, all course materials will be provided. Her classes tend to fill up fast, so grab your tickets! Please share with any friends who may be interested. It could be a lot of fun to learn with a buddy. https://bit.ly/2ztTMk7
