If you missed last Saturday's Indy Author Day you missed a nice, relaxed afternoon with a couple of wonderful authors, Dr. Dave Jefferson (aka Dr. J) and Steve Rogers. Picture on the right is of books written by our authors or are read-alikes. PIcture on left, Dave on the left and Steve on the right.
Come meet to Indi Authors, Dr. Dave Jefferson ( vet) and Steve Rogers as they share some of their writings, past and present, and talk about writing. Dr. J. will have books available for purchase and signing. Weather permitting we will be outside, and you may want to bring a chair. Light refreshments will be served.
We hosted four classes of kindergartners today. They made bookmarks to take home, heard about the history of the library, had a tour through the library including the working areas, and Miss Sue read them a story. We very much enjoy introducing children to our library and seeing those we know who frequent the library often. -Carla-
Best book sale ever! Thank you.
Next Saturday is Star Wars Reads Day. Why not come to the library book sale and get some books for this wonderful day?
The little ones just love it when Miss Sue brings out the stamps. They get to have one on each hand. Then some choose to give Mom or Dad a stamp. Fun times.
It isn't too early to start thinking about what you are planning on doing next weekend. Happening next week is the Library's First Dibs for Kids Book Sale (Friday night, October 6, 5:30 - 7:30 pm) and the Fall Festival of Books (Saturday morning, 8 am - noon). Friday night is all about the kids, no adults allowed in without a child, and Saturday is for everyone---and includes a bake sale. Hope to see you there.
In Freeport this weekend: Children of any age a part of your world? Check your schedule! Friday, September 22, thirty+ authors and illustrators will be at the "Nerdy Evening with Authors and Illustrators" from 6 to 8 pm at the Morse Street School (21 Morse Street, Freeport, Maine). Sherman's will be supplying books, and authors/illustrators will supply personalized signings for your child, grandchild, godchild, nephew, niece or classroom. Signed books make great gifts, too! Open to the public of all ages. (Yes - I'll be there, and so will copies of PIZZA TO DIE FOR and my historical novels for young people.) (posted by Lea Wait)

If you didn't make it to the library last night you missed a great performance by the Library Players. Channel 3 was here to record the play. I will share here on fb when it is showing on channel 3 and on the Town's web site. After the play Josh Sparks shared some of his creatures with us (I even hung around for the "little" boa (only 5 feet or so). Big thanks to all who came out so support the kids and the library. And a huge thanks to the parents that helped pick up. We were all out by 8:30 pm.
