One need look no further than George WashingIngton for examples of Presidential conduct, character, and behavior. His virtues are the perfect benchmark that all United States Presidents should strive to emulate.

Had the honor to meet 16 United States Marines out of Marine Barracks Washington, D.C. tonight. We took a chance and asked one of them what political party he supported and his response blew us away. He said, "That affiliation is meaningless, I support the party of The United States of America." If that is not a message that Congress and ALL of us need to hear, then what is? #belikegeorge #congressunite #unity #rnc #dnc #makeamericagreat

CONGRESS BANS THEATRE - In this month of May 1778, George Washington rebuked a Congressional ban on theatre by the first Continental Congress and ordered the performance of his favorite play "CATO" written by Joseph Addison in 1713, to the Continental Army at Valley Forge. General Washington had great affinity for the theatre and regularly attended plays in Williamsburg, Virginia before the revolutionary war. "CATO" was arguably the most popular play of the 18th century and was surely George Washington's favorite. The plot of "CATO" described the fate of Marcus Portius Cato, a Roman Aristocrat, who opposed the rise of Julius Caesar and tried to rally Rome to its traditional virtues. George Washington's choice of "CATO" was a perfect choice considering the political climate of the time. There were obvious comparisons between George Washington's ordeal at Valley Forge and that of Cato's isolation in Utica and even further comparisons between George Washington's views of Englands dictorial monarchy with King George and Cato's views of Rome, under the demigod dictatorship of Julius Caesar. Considerring our current political climate today and the current state of party partisanship, division and unrest, we used to think that if George Washington miraculously reappeared tody, that he would mount his horse, ride over to our nations capitol, shut the door, and kick Congresses ___! On second thought we are now inclined to think that what he would do is humbly invite Congress to attend a little old play. If so inclined please share any thoughts or comments you may have. We would love to hear them. Our aim is to encorage open dialogue and exploration of our founding father, George Washington and hopefully encourage our countries citizens and politicians to return to the original ideals and virtues of our founding father and " Be Like George" #belikegeorge

Ensemble, la démocratie triomphe! Congratulations France for voting Unity over division and hate. "It is to be regretted, I confess, that democratical states must always feel before they can see, it is this that makes their government slow, but the people will be right at last." - Letter from General George Washington to the Marquis de Lafayette , July 25, 1787 #belikegeorge

Maybe history continues to repeat itself because we fail to learn from, and adhere to the necessary change that history is trying to teach. Maybe what Americans should really be asking themselves and taking note of was WHY WAS FRANCE IN MEXICO in the first place? The reason was that Napoleon the third was trying to take advantage of Mexico's political turmoil and weakened state that resulted in the 3 year civil war between Mexico's liberals and conservatives following the Reform War (1857 - 1860). We have all heard Abraham Lincon's quote " A House divided against itself can not stand." Is there a deeper history lesson, we are going to again, fail to hear? When is enough, enough? #Americaunite #belikegeorge

“If we mean to support the liberty and independence which it has cost us so much blood and treasure to establish,” George Washington wrote to Rhode Island governor Arthur Fenner, “we must drive far away the demon of party spirit and local reproach.” Hmmm, maybe we should listen to our Founding Father. #americaunite #belikegeorge
