The game demo for Thursday the 29th will be Coal Baron the Great Card Game. Guided play begins at 5pm and the game room will be open all day for our customers to try out any of our 400 demo games. Coal Baron: The Great Card Game The city of Essen, Germany at the turn of the 20th century was a center for coal mining in Europe. Immerse yourself in the dark world of coal mining as you extract coal from pits, load coal to wagon trains, and then rail your coal off to distant locations in search of fortunes. Coal Baron: The Great Card Game is a standalone game based on the very popular board game, Coal Baron, originally published in 2013. With innovative mechanisms and almost 240 cards, Coal Baron: The Great Card Game creates an experience that feels very distinct from, yet is just as intense as, the original game.

This Saturday, July 1st stop in for the Magic Open House. Starting at 1pm. The Magic Open House is a learn-to-play event as well as a VERY casual Standard event. New players will receive a Welcome Deck so they can learn to play Magic and then join the casual Standard event. *Experienced players* Please bring a fun deck and be prepared to help new players play their first few games. All participants will receive a foil full-art basic land while supplies last.

Hour of Devastation Prerelease

Join us for 4 Hour of Devastation prerelease events. *Saturday at Midnight will be 3 rounds. Doors open at 11:30pm Friday night for registration and seating. *Saturday at 1:00pm will be 4 rounds. *Saturday at 6:00pm will be a Two Headed Giant event with Chili and cornbread served after first round. Bring a partner, or we will help you find one. *Sunday at 4:00pm will be 3 rounds with door prizes awarded to each player after the second round. All events will use Swiss pairing and prizes will be awarded based upon match points rather than standing. $25 per person per event or $85 for all four events.

Briar Rose and her sister Belle are recuperating at the store right now. Belle had an ingrown leg band that we removed on Thursday. She will make a full recovery. Briar was not as lucky this Winter when she encountered a raccoon. She is a fighter and getting ready for her prosthetic leg.
