Job Series- Thy Will Be Done Recap Job 23:8 “Behold, I go forward, but he is not there, and backward, but I do not perceive him; 9 on the left hand when he is working, I do not behold him; he turns to the right hand, but I do not see him.10 But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold. >>We must respond to God during suffering by pushing the roots of our lives deeper into Him that we might draw from his life giving grace. We must get small in light of His greatness. Let God be God…. The Climax of the Book of Job is in Job 38 Job38:1 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said: Finally, God speaks! Not a rebuke but an answer, which implies conversation. Job has complained that God is not listening or has left him but God proves emphatically he has been listening and from the midst of a literal whirlwind, he speaks into Job’s metaphoric whirlwind. >>We must be very clear what happens…God speaks He does not explain but He speaks! There is a tremendous difference. I would never promise nor does the scripture that you will get an explanation for suffering but God will speak again! When God speaks to Job he reminds Job who Job is and who He is. Suffering is the divinely ordained catalyst to draw or drive us to Himself. Suffering: Divine Gravity because at the center of suffering is God and he is waiting for you… Timothy Keller “The book of Job is not really about suffering, after all, is it? At its core, it is about God and you. It is about the relationship between a man, or a woman, or a child, and God—in spite of solace or suffering, on earth and beyond. The Job in chapter 42 is not the same man we met in chapters 1 and 2. Job grew exponentially that day. We grow the most when we become the smallest.” The CONCLUSION of Job is, “Thy will be done” The climax of our series on Job is to bring us to this reality…. Yes the series’ purpose was to …. to have the proper understanding of suffering as drawing us toward God ….. to know how to suffer with the suffering …. to learn to suffer even in the silence and dig deep into God but all that to bring us to the conclusion that God is God and we must yield to his will to truly find peace and rest in Him. Jesus said in John 16:33 In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” When it comes to suffering it means we not only survive suffering but we survive and take what was intended to destroy us and redeem it to the Glory of God and use it to destroy the enemy and stand victorious with God.
