Yesterday I sent the campers to get Belle from free ranging. Last day of camp, it's Belle, they can totally handle it, I stayed wayyyyy behind to supervise, I 'turned' her out with a halter, seriously what is taking so long?! I forgot to give them a lead shank. My bad!!! Bless their hearts they were really attempting how to figure out the situation. Oooops, equal parts of adorable and funny.

Belle free ranging makes me miss my BF Shiloh. Rarely a day goes by that a memory of him warms my heart and/or a student mentions him. Alf is so eager to be Belle's date but I am thinking not such a good idea...

Next week Monday August 15th we host the GEM (Girls' Empowerment Mission) girls, always our favorite week of the summer. Friends/previous students let me know if you want to help this year, you won't be sorry you did. I never thought I would have to be saying this so soon, but heaven gained another great one yesterday. Jinks Miss Rey aka Charlotte, also know by Char. She impacted so many people's lives so greatly. I've had Char for about 6 years, and those 6 years have been filled with tears, smiles, and laughs that I will always hold close to my heart. Char has helped make me into the rider I am today. Char always performed to the best of her ability and always worked so hard to please me. Char wasn't always stunningly beautiful. Char challenged me, but never anything that I wasn't capable of overcoming. As I cry while I type this I know she's somewhere great. If it were my choice, she'd stay in the pasture forever with the horses she's grown with, traveled with, and lived with for the past several years. there is nothing more painful than saying goodbye to your best friend. Char changed my life forever and I will forever be grateful to have been given the chance to jockey her and to love her....
