Non-profit Art Gallery and Association Founded on December 17th, 1907, Gallery 53 is one of the oldest visual arts organizations in Connecticut. Through educational programs, exhibits, workshops, and lectures, this non-profit 501(c)(3) organization is dedicated to the cultural enrichment of the Greater Meriden community.

Join us for the opening reception for Gallery 53’s 2018 Textile Show, “All Things Considered.” See how regional artists exploit the creative potential of textiles to create new, exciting and meaningful works. This juried show will be judged by well-known textile artist and “Artrepreneur” Clara Nartey. Refreshments served, free parking in garage across the street.

"ALL THINGS CONSIDERED" Gallery 53's 2018 Textile Show now accepting entries! Receiving: Friday March 23, 12-3 pm, Saturday March 24, 10-1 pm. Judge : Clara Nartey Reception: Saturday April 14th, 12-2 pm Fees: $15.00 2 entries Eligibility: Limit 2 entries “READY TO HANG” NOTE: “READY TO HANG” which means a hanging stick for each piece supplied by the artist. Labels must be completed, signed and accompany each piece. Each label has 2 parts, (top and bottom) containing the same information. Affix the label to the lower left-hand corner of the work on the back of the frame. One half of the label will extend below the frame. A 30% commission will be taken on sold items. No POR; NFS is OK Removal date: Friday April 27, 12-3 pm Saturday, April 28. 10-1 pm

Thanks to our true blue Meriden Police Department for setting up a safe crosswalk after our 110th Anniversary Gala Saturday night. Officer Jeff Witkin and his associates did an outstanding job of ensuring our 100+ attendees reached their vehicles in the parking garage across the street safely!
