Maynard Pioneer Park and Museum
Description
If you want to take a trip back in time to see the old way of living a must see is the Maynard Pioneer Park and Museum established in 1979. The 1890's log cabin that was slated to be destroyed was saved by a group of citizens who took apart the cabin log by log, numbered them, moved the cabin about 4 miles down the road and reconstructed it as the Maynard Pioeer Park and Museum.
A trip to the Maynard Pioneeer Park and Museum lets one reflect on the ways our forefathers struggled to make a home. From the viewing of vintage furnishings in the cabin, to the antique farm equipment, black-smithing, and church that sits in the park we offer family fun for everyone.
The third weekend in September each year is the Maynard Pioneer Days Festival. In 2011 a plaque was placed at the park for the Benge Route of Trail of Tears.
