Description
West Broward is a tuition-free Broward County Public Charter School operated independently with a very high standard for students. West Broward is a community-based school offering students an opportunity to become active participants in their education. Students are given every opportunity for success with qualified, caring teachers carrying out the daily instruction, tutorials provided in an after school setting and an attentive administrative team who will work to ensure a safe, secure learning environment. Parents are asked to volunteer their time to share in that process and to provide the school with additional creative resources.

West Broward Academy will be hosting it's first New Parent Presentation on January 18, 2018 at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria. Please park in the back of the school to enter the cafeteria. We welcome all new and interested families to join us at this time.
We look forward to having the students back on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Monday, January 8th is a Teacher Planning Day. Teachers are not available and Before/After Care will not be available.

Students taking the FSA assessments this Spring are encouraged to go to https://fsassessments.org/students-and-families/practice-tests/index.stml and take the practice tests. Students may take these tests repeatedly. The answers are also available however, the focus on the test question style is what we want the student to practice. FSA style questions can be "tricky" and are rigorous. If your 8th grade child is unfamilar with a desktop computer, keyboard and mouse it is encouraged they begin practicing at home using a keyboard and typing. Typing Pal is a great typing tool program. www.fsassemment.org
WBA is offering an extended focus on the writing process that will assist students on the upcoming FSA Writing Assessment. Sessions begin January 10th!
