A note from a resident to Fire Chief Dan Booker: "After watching a movie this afternoon we stood outside chatting when a fire truck was approaching. My friends 4yr old is in awe of fire trucks and firefighters so we were pointing out the truck. The amazing men on the fire truck noticed and turned on the lights and sirens. The experience didn't end there. They stopped the truck right in front of us, took the little boy and put him in the passengers seat. Nico was so stunned and couldn't stop smiling as he sat there then looked and waved at the driver. Once the firefighter took him down he then took time to talk to him and give him a high five. I promise you this 4yr old is still smiling. As they drove away we said..."Who needs Santa Claus when you have Margate firefighters!!". Many thanks to these men and each of you that work so hard for our community." ❤️❤️❤️

Wondering what we've been up to lately? Well, we've been hard at work building a new website for our residents and community. It's launching tomorrow, and we're so excited. Features include: • A new citizen request tracker. Citizens will not only be able to report concerns such as potholes, weed control issues, street light outages, etc., but they will also be able to track the work from start to finish via email notifications. • The NotifyMe feature provides the City more options to communicate with the public. Citizens can sign up to receive city alerts, electronic newsletters, press releases, events and meeting notifications via email and text message. • CivicHR makes applying for a City of Margate job and attracting the best talent easier. Candidates will now be able to apply, provide resumes and additional resources, and save progress online - from anywhere, anytime. • The Bid Postings module provides a simple and easy to use method of posting bids. This new feature will allow users to sign up to be notified when a new bid becomes available. Fingers crossed that our launch will go off without a hitch!
