Officer Arcuri, Officer Fane, and Officer Borrelli became certified LEAD (Law Enforcement Against Drugs) instructors today after completing the week long training course. They will begin interacting with students at the Tighe School in a classroom setting shortly. Congratulations ladies.

*Update* Both the Longport Bridge and the Margate Bridge are open at this time. Only drive if you must. It is very windy on these bridges. Most of the roads here are passable although flooded. This picture is of Ventnor Avenue at 3:15pm.

**ALERT/REMINDER** There has been multiple CAR THEFTS in town recently. In all cases the car was either a push button start and key fob was left in the vehicle or the keys were left in the vehicle. There appears to be two male actors checking car doors during the overnight hours targeting vehicles both in the street and in residents driveways. If you see any suspicious activity please call the PD. 609-822-1151. PLEASE REMEMBER TO LOCK YOUR VEHICLES AND TAKE YOUR KEYS WITH YOU. Please share this post and remind your friends and neighbors.
**PUBLIC NOTICE** *ACCREDITATION TEAM INVITES PUBLIC COMMENT* The Margate City Police Department is scheduled for an On-Site Assessment as part of the Accreditation Process through the New Jersey Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission, which is administered by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police. The Accreditation Program requires agencies to comply with standards that represent the best practices in Law Enforcement. The Accreditation Process is rigorous and includes a close examination of the agency's written directive system, operation, and facility. As part of the On-Site Assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments to the Accreditation Assessors assigned to the On-Site Assessment by calling (609) 822-5838 on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, between 9:30am and 11:30am. Telephone comments are limited to 5 minutes and must address the agency's ability to comply with the accreditation standards.
