After a debilitating stroke left him unable to walk, Madonna helped veteran Victor Cabriales battle back to regain his independence. Victor, who spent 34 years in the Army including two tours in Iraq, tapped into his military training for the strength and courage. The Mullin Education Endowment Scholarships were awarded to three outstanding Madonna employees who are working toward their bachelor of science degrees in nursing: Gabby Jacobsen, nurse aid at the Omaha Campus, studying at Nebraska Methodist College; Angie Gaughen, charge nurse at the Lincoln Campus, studying at the University of Nebraska Medical Center; and Emily Klein, nurse aid at the Lincoln Campus, studying at Bryan College of Health Sciences.

The Betty A. Sweinimer Memorial Scholarships were awarded to two Madonna employees at the Angel Spotlight. Recipients include Coleman Lay, rehabilitation associate at the Omaha Campus, who is studying to become a doctor of occupational therapy at Creighton University and Kaylea Speckmann, a nurse aid at the Lincoln Campus, who is currently applying to physical therapy schools.
