The Kansas Wesleyan University Concert Choir will be performing on Thursday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Liberal, KS. The concert in Liberal is part of the choir's 2017 Spring Tour. The concert in Liberal on Thursday night is the first in a six-day that includes concerts in Wichita Falls, TX, Arlington, TX, Oklahoma City, OK, and Wichita, KS. Liberal resident Madison Butler is a member of the KWU choir, and is excited to be returning to perform in her home town. The concert is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be taken to help the choir with traveling expenses. Anchoring downtown Liberal for over 125 years, First United Methodist Church is located at the corner or 3rd and Grant Streets. For more information about the concert, call the church office at 620-624-8401.
Good afternoon! This is the official request for church families to volunteer to keep the choir and orchestra students from Kansas Wesleyan University in your homes for the night of Thursday, March 16. They will arrive in Liberal sometime during the afternoon on that day. We will need to feed them a covered dish dinner (make lots of food, because they will be traveling with about 60 students) at 6:00 p.m. Their concert will follow at 7:30 p.m. Following the concert, the students will go home with church family members for an overnight stay. You would be expected to provide them with breakfast in the morning before they come back to the church for their departure. I don't know the times for Friday morning yet. As soon as I know, I will pass it along with you. If you volunteer, you'll have to take at least two students. We could possibly transport them to your house in the church van if need be. Please let me know as soon as possible if you can help! Reply to this Facebook post, or call my cell phone at 620-229-3046, or call the church office at 620-8401. Tell me your name and how many students you can keep. I will have an announcement in the bulletin this Sunday as well along with a form to fill out if you can help us out. Thanks for your assistance! God's Blessings - Pastor Keith

Just another day in the life of First United Methodist Church....ongoing renovation, preparing for a grave side funeral, hosting the family for a dinner prior to the funeral, and having the Liberal SWAT team performing tactical maneuver drills all at the same time. Needless to say, we warned everyone that the SWAT team was coming. Our church serves SO many people other than just it's members and constituents. Join us for the excitement!
