Dorothy's House & Land of Oz
Description
Dorothy's House and the Land of Oz is located in Liberal, KS and is operated by the Seward County Historical Society. Dorothy’s House was built in 1907 and donated to the Seward County Historical Society. Volunteers moved the house to its present location on the grounds. It has been carefully restored and furnished to replicate the house shown in the 1939 movie “Wizard of OZ,” reproducing the warmth of the farmhouse where Dorothy realized that, “There’s no place like home.” Former Kansas governor John Carlin recognized the house as the official home of Dorothy Gale in 1981.
The Land of OZ is a 5,000 square foot animated “Land of Oz” where Dorothy will guide you through her adventure while meeting Munchkins, a Scarecrow, Tin Man, a Cowardly Lion, and trying to avoid a Wicked Witch.
Join Dorothy today to experience a guided tour of Dorothy’s House and the Land of Oz, where you will see unique memorabilia, including the actual model of the home that was used in the tornado scene in the 1939 movie. We look forward to seeing you!
