Lexington County Museum | A Story Behind Every Door
Mayor's Message - June 2017 The Lexington County Museum is a true treasure in our community. Founded in 1970, the museum complex sprawls across seven acres in downtown Lexington, featuring more than 30 historic structures that have been moved to the site from locations throughout the county. . The museum offers a unique learning opportunity to view structures and artifacts, while providing comprehensive educational tours to a variety of visitors. With summer in full swing, the museum will offer a variety of events this month. First, the "Murders and Mysteries" Walking Tour of Downtown Lexington will be on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 8pm. The event is FREE begins at the vacant lot on the 100 block of East Main St. Due to the mature subject matter, we ask that attendees be 18 or over. Also, the Fourth Annual Family Day is on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 10am - 1pm at the Lexington County Museum Complex, located at 231 Fox Street. The event is FREE, providing family members of all ages to learn about the history of the county through hands-on programs. A blacksmith will be in attendance to teach guests about metalworking in the 19th century. Hot dogs and chips will be served. Terence Young Jazz Experience
Join Terence Young as he brings his soulful jazz to Lexington. Terence Young has earned the reputation of being one of the most talented guitarists in the world. He has released 6 cds to date with "Love Stories" being his latest release. The CDs have an inspirational variety of songs that display his original compositions as a songwriter. He has shared the stage with EnVogue, Morris Day and the Time, Al Jarreau, Roberta Flack, George Duke, Rachelle Ferrell, Gerald Albright, Clarence Carter, and Joe Sample. He has also played guitar for R&B singers such as Ashford and Simpson, Lenny Williams, Aaron Hall, and Angie Stone just to name a few. One of his biggest accomplishments is that he’s featured playing guitar on the EARTH, WIND AND FIRE TRIBUTE CD with R&B Queen Angie Stone. Joining Terence will be Columbia's own Mark Rapp. Tickets will be $8.00 and go on sale July 7th, more details coming soon.
The Ultimate Classic Rock Tribute
Join us for a night of great music from two of best cover bands covering the music from two of the top classic rock bands of all times. On the Boarder will be opening the show up with some of the Eagles greatest hits, followed by The Resurrection playing some of the high energy hits for Journey. Tickets will be $15.00 and go on sale September 1, check back here for more details

246 Army Band
Join the 246th Army Band as we celebrate July 4th. The band will take the stage at 9:00 and play great patriotic music. There will be food and beverage for sale, and lawn chairs are welcome.
Town Hall Offices Closed for Memorial Day Holiday The Town of Lexington Offices will be closed on Monday, May 29, 2017 in observance of Memorial Day Holiday. Solid Waste and Recycling Collection will run on normal schedule.
