BARNABAS HOUSE is a mission and ministry in Lanham, Maryland that exists to edify the family of God, and to present Jesus Christ to those who don’t know Him. It is a wellspring of encouragement. As such, it is also a portal of peace, a haven for sharing life’s stories, and a refreshing stream for thirsty souls.

Here, we want to know your name! We Listen. We Laugh. We Learn. We Love. That’s what we do. BARNABAS HOUSE won’t replace your family, friends, colleagues, networks, or places of worship, but as we seek to be a source of encouragement, we just might provide you with some additional spiritual fuel as you traverse life’s journey.

With the vision of expanding God’s encouragement agenda throughout our community, it is our delight to share the grace, and love of Jesus Christ with all who enter BARNABAS HOUSE. This may take the form of kind words, listening ears, laughter, instruction, gifts, or prayer at precisely the right moment.

Just like our namesake Barnabas, the son of encouragement in the book of Acts, BARNABAS HOUSE is a House of Encouragement. This is a two-way mandate. We are here to encourage you, even as your presence, expressed thoughts, and prayers encourage us.

BARNABAS HOUSE includes a Gift Shop that contains Scripture-based cards, books, framed art, and various new and vintage gift items. It also serves as the home of the 3693 Enrichment Center.

The 3693 Enrichment Center has been established in memory of Corporal Jacai D. Colson, Prince George’s County Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Division, #3693 - EOW March 13, 2016, and is dedicated to First Responders, including Police, Fire, Medical, Clergy, Military, and Mental Health Professionals; Teachers, Parents, Guardians, and all who serve as God’s instruments of love in our communities.

Programming for the 3693 Enrichment Center will include encouragement activities such as spoken word/ poetry reading evenings, faith and science seminars, children’s story time, fellowship teas, and Bible studies.
