Question of the week from Kim: "How do I keep rabbits from nibbling my tulips?" There are 3 main options 1. Put up fencing 2. Pot them 3. Spray with a repellent-DIY or store bought like Liquid Fence. Fencing doesn't need to be super intense and is not always possible in a small backyard garden. You could simply try securing chicken wire around your tulips to protect them while they grow and then remove it when they are 6in. or taller.
We've extended our online end of season sale till Friday! 25% off everything with $5 shipping-http://www.ecotulips.com/ . Then we will open the farm for one day only on Saturday the 21st for a bulb sale- 10am-2pm with anything we have leftover!!!!!
Great question this am from Iris in Mass: I’m interested in purchasing bulbs but worried about getting them into the ground before the first frost. Answer: It's actually better to plant after the 1st frost! The cooler soil temp is just what bulbs want. Mind you they don't like frozen soil. Here in RI we won't start planting till the last week in October. Check out our handy planting tips and when to plant map for more info. http://www.ecotulips.com/planting-and-care-for-your-fall-bulbs/
