ETSU Quillen College of Medicine
Description
A student friendly medical college: small class sizes, a relaxed environment & hands on, innovative teaching...just a few unique #QuillenFamily traits . Set in the mountains of East Tennessee, Quillen College of Medicine provides a unique community to educate future physicians. The average class size of 72 provides a family like atmosphere. The technological advances in our anatomy teaching lab, human patient simulator lab and our standardized patient encounter rooms provide unique teaching environments with hands, integrated learning experiences. We are proud of our reputation to produce primary care physicians to rural areas and are nationally ranked for doing so. Our optional rural track curriculum provides a physician with the tools to practice in rural areas lacking many modern technological advances; from rural Tennessee to the isolated outback of Australia, our #QuillenFamily has been prepared for almost any practice environment.

On Thursday, November 30th, ETSU QCOM's Organization of Student Representatives held their ninth annual Chili Cook Off to raise money for gifts for the local pediatric patients of Laughing Willows at Woodridge Hospital here in Johnson City. Ten years ago, members of ETSU Quillen College of Medicine saw the urgent needs, such as clothing, personal hygiene products, and school supplies, of children on their pediatric rotation at Woodridge. Collaboration between the concerned students and the Organization of Student Representatives initiated a successful fundraiser. This year, donations were received from Downtown Yoga, Label, Barberitos, Daylight Donuts, Fresh Market, Chik-fil-a, Food City, Yee Haw, White Duck Taco, Tupelo Honey, Southern Craft, First Watch, Wild Wing Cafe, Cookout, Holy Taco, Willow Tree Cafe, and Holidays to raffle off and for grand prizes. Over $550 was raised and will go to buying presents and supplies for the pediatric unit of Woodridge. OSR would like to thank everyone who donated, came, and supported this event! It couldn't be done without you!
