Since April of this year, novice and senior members of the Hinesburg Fire Department have worked hard to complete an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course hosted by the HFD. We'd like to send a big thank you to Frank Koss, Chief of Police, for taking time out of his busy schedule to teach the course! Your support, guidance, and knowledge have allowed students to better understand the content outlined within the course and will make for competent EMRs in the field. Tomorrow morning, a number of HFD members will be taking the National Registry EMR psychomotor exam up at UVM. Good luck to all!
At approximately 9:40 am this morning, Hinesburg Fire was called to assist our brothers and sisters at the Charlotte Fire and Rescue Services as they battled a fire off Greenbush road. Hinesburg responded with a tanker for water supply and an engine for station coverage, while keeping an engine staffed in town to handle any additional calls. Hinesburg crews were clear of the scene around noon. Strong work to all agencies involved! Shelburne Fire Department Ferrisburgh Vol. Fire Dept. **Public Notice** Live Burn Training Please share!! * On Sunday, May 21st, the Hinesburg Fire Department will be hosting a live burn training at HFD’s training structure off Route 116 north of the village. Numerous neighbouring agencies will also be participating in the training. The burn is scheduled to begin at 7:00 am and should be complete around 4:00 pm. Traffic within the 8000 block of Route 116 will be impacted throughout the day. If possible, please seek alternate routes. For the past several months, HFD has had the opportunity to use the empty house on 116 for training. Thanks to the property owners, fire and medical members have been able to stage “real life” scenarios as they would occur on a call. This Sunday, firefighters from around the county will partake in live fire evolutions inside the house. After evolutions are complete, the house in its entirety will be burned in a controlled manner. If you have any questions or concerns, please email info@hinesburgfd.org *** Doug Schmidt Firefighter/Communications Coordinator Hinesburg Fire Department info@hinesburgfd.org
