The ACE Center at Highland Springs would like to welcome our 5 new teachers for the 2016-2017 school year: Mr. Morgan Enroughty (Computer Systems Technology), Mr. Travis Payne (Automotive Technology), Mr. Arnette Person, Jr. (Masonry), Dr. Ulises Reveles (High Tech Academy), and Ms. Audrey Valentine (Pharmacy Tech). Welcome to the ACE Center as we move forward to the beginning of a new year.

Our Computer Systems Technology Advisory Committee won a Creating Excellence Award today. Pictured below is Mrs. Debby Hallcom (CST Instructor), Mr. Henry Clifford (President of Livewire), and Mr. David Hallcom (Field Service Engineer at GE Healthcare). In addition, Ms. Hallcom is pictured receiving the award from Dr. Staples, the state Superintendent. We are so privileged to have wonderful business partners throughout our school. Today our High Tech Academy (HTA) students are competing in Robotics and other competitions as part of TSA. HTA is a dual enrollment program with VCU that offers our students 28 dual enrollment credits with VCU School of Engineering. Students take courses in physics, chemistry, calculus, and engineering.

Dr. Crowder and several staff members were invited to the dedication of the K-9 memorial today. Our students spent countless hours making training units for the dogs as well as renovating several parts of the interior of the building. The ACE Center @ Highland Springs has created a strong partnership with HCPD, which began a couple of years ago when our students renovated and created the HCPD office at Virginia Center Commons. We look forward to participating in future projects with our friends from HCPD.
