The STEAM summer campers are enjoying being silly with face-painting and other leisure activities today as they celebrate the end of a FUN week of learning together! 🔬📱⚙️🎨📐

The STEAM summer campers enjoyed learning how to print 3-D carbon airplanes with guest demonstrator, Evan Amaya (Piedmont Technical College) today. They also learned the basics of a circuit and were then able to use a "Makey Makey" to create a circuit that produced music through simple coding with the help of guest demonstrators, Cathi Hadd (ACTS Magnet School) and Greta Flinn (District 50)! 🔬📱⚙️🎨📐

The STEAM summer campers enjoyed a visit from the "Gene Machine" this morning! Via two different hands-on experiments, campers were able to explore how oil and water respond to one another and how genes affect all physical traits. Thank you Greenwood Genetic Center for providing this wonderful learning experience for our campers this week! 🔬📱⚙️🎨📐

We enjoyed celebrating the 64 works of art on display by 43 artists representing 21 different towns within South Carolina and Georgia during this year's opening reception for the South Carolina Festival of Flowers Juried Art Show! The show was juried from 182 original entries by Erin Glaze Nathanson; Owner/Art Dealer with The Southern in Charleston, SC. The show will remain on display and open to the public until June 30th! ✨🎨✨

We enjoyed celebrating with the 80 youth artists that were selected to participate in this year's South Carolina Festival of Flowers Juried Youth Art Show 2017! This show is made possible each year with funding attributed to an endowment in the name of Virginia Self. The show will remain on display and open to the public until June 9th. 🎨✨
