We have partnered with the Great Bend-Brit Spaugh Zoo for some great summer zoo fun classes. Classes will take place on Thursdays in June at 1:30 at the Zoo. Class themes include: ZOO SENSES- Come explore your senses with the animals at the Great Bend Brit Spaugh Zoo in their home. PARROTS, RAPTORS AND OTHER BIRDS AT THE ZOO Come learn about all the different kinds of birds that call the Great Bend-Brit Spaugh Zoo their home. EVERYWHERE PLANTS! Kids will have the opportunity to learn about the important role that plants play in not only our lives, but in our animal’s lives as well. HISTORY OF MAMMALS Step into history! We will examine fossils and learn about how they’re made, discuss unique mammal adaptions and go on a scavenger hunt for zoo animal tracks. To enroll call 793-3755 ext. 2

Lego Camp - Stem Challenge
STEM CHALLENGE WITH LEGO®! Power on your engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Apply real world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through engineer-designed projects such as Catapults, Pneumatic Cranes, Arch Bridges, and Battletracks! Design and build as never before and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment. An experienced instructor will challenge new and returning students to engineer at the next level. No scholarships are available for this program. Entry deadline: Monday, June 19th. Instructors: Play-Well TEKnologies Staff Fee: $130.00 and is for ages 8-12 years old. Students will not take home any LEGO® during these programs. All materials used are the property of Play- Well TEKnologies and are not for sale or distribution.
Lego Camp - Intro to Stem
INTRO TO STEM WITH LEGO®! Tap into your imagination with tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Build engineer-designed projects such as Boats, Snowmobiles, Catapults, and Merry-Go-Rounds. Then use special pieces to create your own unique design! New and returning students can explore the endless creative possibilities of the LEGO® building system with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor. No scholarships are available for this program. Instructors: Play-Well TEKnologies Staff Fee: $130.00 and is open to students ages 5-7 years old.
One Day PlayWell Lego Camp
ONE DAY STEM FUNDAMENTALS WITH LEGO® WORKSHOP Power on your engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and tens of thousands of LEGO® parts. Apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through engineer-designed projects such as Snowmobiles, Towers, and Battletracks! Design and build as never before and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment. An experienced instructor will challenge new and returning students to engineer at the next level. Pizza, fruit and beverages will be provided for lunch. This workshop will just give you an example of all the fun activities children will experience in the STEM four day long camps that run June 26th through 29th. Camp is open to students ages 6-11 years old. No scholarships are available for this program. Entry deadline: Friday, May 26th. Instructor: Play-Well TEKnologies Staff & Karen Clark Fee: $35.00

Darn this Kansas Weather! We will once again be closing down our facilities and cancelling any activities at 5pm. Activities Postponed include: Uniform/Picture Try-on Tai Chi Intermediate (5:30-6:30pm) Gentle Yoga (3-4pm class) Gentle Yoga (6:30-7:30pm Class) Special Needs Easy Cooking Class Jean Cavanaugh Wellness Center will close at 5pm. Uniform Try-on & Picture Make-up will be Monday, May 22nd. Special Needs Easy Cooking Class will be held on May 25th.

Reminder of Today's events: Pitch Hit & Run will take place at the Great Bend Sports Complex at 5:30pm. This is a Free event for Boys & Girls ages 14 & under. Uniform Try-On and Pictures will take place tomorrow (5/18) at the City Auditorium teams need to show up at the same times as their original scheduled time.
