Science Central is a regional resource that provides inspiring and fun hands-on science education for people of all ages. Spark your imagination at Science Central! Inside Fort Wayne's first publicly-run electric utility, the City Power & Light plant, you will find over 30,000 sq. feet of exciting hands-on learning in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math. Explore 120+ fun, interactive exhibits and live science demonstrations on electricity, magnetism, weather, geology, live animals, and much more. Unique exhibits include Science On a Sphere, where you can see the Earth from space; Fred the fossil Mastodon; Kids Central, the early-learners area; and the High Rail Bike, suspended three-stories over the ground. With new exhibits opening almost every month and a temporary traveling exhibition gallery that is updated three times a year, there is always something new and exciting to see at Science Central.

Happy Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week! We are thankful for the opportunity to provide inspiring and fun hands-on science education to all people of all ages through our Afterschool Enrichment programs. In 2017, we provided 268 afterschool programs for 6,881 people in our region. So far this year we have served 1,900 people through these programs, some in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, Cornerstone Youth Center, and local schools and PTA groups. #heartofafterschool
