A sight we haven’t seen in a few mornings, still brisk here at the airport but at least there’s no snow flying... Hopefully it will be a good day for flying.

We had our visitors back again this morning, it’s hard to see by the pictures but the one was a young one and wasn’t very big. They have left the area now, so they are no factor for Aircraft.

Not only is Mother Nature confused on what season it is, we had a few visitors this morning at the airport.

Reminder this Sunday March 11th 2018, our busniess hours go back to 7am-9pm In October of 2017 there was a little bit of a change here at Smith Field. We rebranded to Smith Field Aero Center, some of you may have already seen some of the new signage going up. Since then, we have had some questions that are being asked so we wanted to reach out and hopefully answer those for you. 1. Is the airport still Smith Field? Yes, the airport is still Smith Field the name is not changing. 2. Who owns the airport? The airport and its buildings are owned and operated by the Fort Wayne Allen County Airport Authority. 3. What is Smith Field Aero Center? Like the Fort Wayne Aero Center only in a smaller scale, Smith Field Aero Center runs the FBO portion of the airport. SFAC also performs airport operations functions, ensuring that a safe airfield is maintained for the flying public. 4. What does Smith Field Aero Center bring to the airport? A. NATA safety 1st certified employees B. Marshaling of aircraft into the facility C. Assist in Reservation of Rental Cars, Hotels, etc. D. Fueling of Aircraft E. Hangar Rental, Tie Down F. Oil Sales G. Courtesy Car H. Our staff will go above and beyond to make your experience at Smith Field as stress free and pleasurable as possible.
