Built by W.R. Martin 1886 for his bride when he arrived in Fort Smith from Alabama. He practiced law in the last years of Judge Parker's court and was first secretary and a director for the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce. In 1907 he sold the property to C.N. Geren who shortly thereafter remodeled the house to add a second story.

The house was purchased in November 2017 by Max Rodriguez.
