Grampa Al's
Description
Serving hamburgers, cold refreshments, and playing live music in Faribault since the end of prohibition! Grampa Al’s, the oldest local bar and grill in Faribault and one of the oldest bars in the state of Minnesota, still having its original liquor license issued after the repeal of the Volstead Act.Originally opened by Al Jasinski as Al’s Place it has gone through many changes: featuring everything from a local hang out, to a full scale restaurant, pool hall and live music venue. Al passed his business down to his three Jasinski sons Jerry, Gene, and Donnie who ran it for years. The name has since been changed from Al’s Place to Grampa Al’s having his two grandsons Jim and Jake currently running it carrying on the family tradition. Grampa Al’s is located in historic downtown Faribault’s Heritage District. At Grampa Al’s you can still find live bands, pool tables, and one of the best hamburgers in town. Whether your from Faribault or just passing through stop by and try our lunch or have a cold refreshment.
