No, we do not "play dress-up."
It was one year ago when we were given the honor of bringing a Maine son, Civil War Pvt Jewett Williams, to his home state to be laid to rest with his brothers in a National Cemetery. Contrary to how his home state dishonored him by the treatment he was given here, all along the route from Oregon to Maine Jewett was met with respect and gratitude. No moment proved more meaningful than to see these fine folks take time from their own event to stand in silence and fire a shot to send our boy on his way. May you all continue to teach and pass down the history and respect to future generations. All my hope, ~MIss Rose
