facebook.comIt's Thanksgiving! Well, almost. Here's some quick information that we hope is helpful: Remember that Thursday trash collection will take place on SATURDAY, Nov. 25. Friday's trash collection will take place as usual. The Transfer Station will be OPEN normal hours on Friday, Nov. 24, to make it easier for you to clean up after all your company. Public Works closed today (Wednesday, Nov. 22) at 1:30 pm. All Town offices are closed this Thursday and Friday. We will resume our normal operating hours on Monday. We hope you have a wonderful holiday.

I know, Buddy! We're excited too! Flagship Cinemas Falmouth will once again offer free movies during #verymerryfalmouth. Yes, we said free!!! Doors will open at 9:30 am on Saturday, December 2 and the movies will start at 10:00 am. You will have your choice of The Muppet Christmas Carol, White Christmas, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Home Alone, and...one other. Now what was that last one again? Some guy in a green hat and jacket...oh yeah ELF! Seating is first come, first serve, so don't be late!

It's back and uglier than ever! Don we now our AWFUL apparel as we race along Route 1 in the second annual Ugly Sweater run on Saturday, December 2 at 9:00 am. We had so much fun with this last year that we decided to make this race a full 5K! Registration is $30, includes a free t-shirt, and all proceeds will benefit the Falmouth Memorial Library's capital campaign. For those who prefer less hustle in their holiday, the Merry Mile fun run/walk will take place at 10am and is FREE. Prizes will be awarded for the UGLIEST sweater, so don't be shy! It's only two weeks away and we are so excited!!! Falmouth will kick off the celebration of its 300th anniversary at #verymerryfalmouth on Friday, December 1 with FIREWORKS! Presented by Tyler Technologies, the fireworks will begin at 6pm and will be visible from multiple viewing points along Route 1. The fun doesn't stop there! After the fireworks, join us in the event tent on Route 1 for the Merry Mix and Mingle, a family-friendly party featuring food from Ricetta's Brick Oven Ristorante, music by Hello Newman, and kid activities led by our friends at Centerpoint Martial Arts. On Saturday, November 18 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, AARP Maine and Cumberland County Sheriff's Office are hosting an electronics shredding day. Bring your old, unwanted computers to the Sheriff's office to be safely destroyed and protect your sensitive computer data! FMI, call the Sheriff at (207) 774-1444, ext. 2115
#verymerryfalmouth will kick off two weeks from today with our annual Holiday Tree Lighting in Village Park. Visit with Santa, enjoy some cookies, and celebrate the beginning of the holiday season. Falmouth's Public Works office will be closed from noon-1:30 pm today, Thursday, November 16, for an employee event.
Snow is in the forecast for today. While it doesn't look like we will get much of anything here in Falmouth, this is a good reminder for when it is our turn.
