Even though our girls didn’t win their game tonight to move them one step closer to a state championship, we are so proud of them. They put up a good fight and for some of them it is their last basketball game as an SLS Crusader. You have made us so proud and you all represented SLS well!!!
Here are the rest of our Presidents and First Ladies in their Living Presidental Museum. They did such an amazing job!!!
Social Studies has our 4th graders learning about our United States Presidents and First Ladies. Today, in honor of President's Day, they held a Living Presidental Museum. They had to research a President or First Lady, make a board of facts and/or pictures and dress like their President or First Lady. On display, like a wax figure, they came to life when their ask me button was pushed and they told us fun facts about themselves. Here are half of our Presidents and First Ladies. The rest will be in the next post.
Our room parents also brought out their creative sides for the Valentine parties. There was games of bingo, matching numbers and word searches, bean bag toss games, coloring sheets, necklace making, finger painting and even painting with celery! Thank you to all of our parents who contributed to the parties, we are so blessed to have you!!
Valentine's Day brought out some very creative sides of our students. We have animals, hockey rinks, robots, gymnastic equipment and even a Bob Marley. Great job everyone!!!
Your 8th grade year is full of many special moments. The Ash Wednesday Mass is one of those moments. Our 8th graders get to place the ashes on not only their peers' foreheads but their teachers, parish members and even their own mother.
In preparing for Ash Wednesday, last night we burned the palms to give us the ashes for today. Ashes will be given out this evening at the 5:15pm Mass or at the 7:00pm Distribution of Ashes.
Our 8th grade students ended our Mardi Gras evening of fun with their Stick Ministry. This is one of our best traditions here at SLS. This lighting on this video is not as bright as the day version of it but it is still just as emotional. If you want to see it in person, they are doing it again this evening at the beginning of our Ash Wednesday Distribution of Ashes starting at 7:00pm.
Our 8th graders ended our Mardi Gras day of fun with their Stick Ministry. The video will be posted soon.
