New Central Park splash pad continues family friendly trend Construction to be completed in time for summer heat The Elmwood Park Board of Trustees today announced the construction of a new splash pad to be built in Central Park. The splash pad will compliment the Aquatic Center in the Circle and will expand the opportunities for family recreation in the village. “Our community is committed to family friendly fun,” said Elmwood Park Village President Angelo “Skip” Saviano. “The splash pad is another great investment that builds on the momentum generated by the new playground equipment at Mills Park and Elmwood School.” In 2016 the Village funded the construction of new playground equipment at Mills Park and also forged a partnership with the local school district to help fund the construction of a new playground at Elmwood School. This week, the Board of Trustees voted to approve $118,000 to build the new Central Park splash pad. The project is expected to be completed by the end of July, in time for the hottest months of the summer. Elmwood Park has seen strong housing sales growth over the last several years and the village trustees have made it a priority to support the many young families that have settled in the community. “We listen to our constituents,” said Trustee Angelo Lollino. “The splash pad was something that we saw interest in and this corner of Central Park provided the perfect location. It will fit in well with the other activities that take place in Central Park like the Taste of Elmwood Park and Movies in the Park.”

Notice to Homeowners: While most contractors are honest, hardworking professionals, there are those who will take advantage of a vulnerable homeowner. Never hire a contractor without first checking references to make sure they are properly licensed, have a good reputation and do quality work.
