Mark Twain often referred or alluded to eclipses and comets in his work. Perhaps the most notable is "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" (1889). In anticipation of Monday's solar eclipse, Dr. David Ketterer, Honorary Research Fellow at University of Liverpool and an Emeritus Professor of English at Concordia University, revisits Twain's work and the pivotal role of the eclipse.
#SoaringToSuccess this week takes a look into the summer internship that biology major Zoey Perham '18 has been completing at nearby Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
Professors Lynn Gillie and Forrest Meekins recently participated in the Meg Lowman Treetops Camp hosted by Tanglewood Nature Center & Museum. The camp is named in honor of Elmira native and world-renowned forest canopy researcher Dr. Margaret “Meg” Lowman.
Congratulations again to the award recipients from this year's 8th International Conference presented by the Elmira College Center for Mark Twain Studies, including our own Dr. Barb Snedecor and Stanford University's Dr. Shelley Fisher Fishkin.
