About the Doctor:
Dr. Lakhwinder Dhillon received his Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) from Punjab Agricultural University, India in 1989. Dr. Dhillon later received his Master of Veterinary Science (MVSc) in Veterinary Surgery and Radiology with Merit from Punjab Agricultural University, India in 1999.

Dr. Dhillon has 20 years of combined experience as a Veterinarian. Previously, Dr. Dhillon practiced as small and large animal veterinarian for 10 years in India. In 2000, Dr. Dhillon moved to Canada and practiced in a small animal clinic for 4 years, where he treated many types of small animals, including dogs, cats, birds, and rabbits.

Dr. Dhillon moved to Chicago, Illinois in 2005 and began working at Banfield, the Pet Hospital as the Chief-of-Staff Veterinarian, treating many types of small animals, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rabbits, and other rodents. After five years at Banfield, Dr. Dhillon decided to open Elgin Animal Clinic in August 2010. Dr. Dhillon also worked at Giller Animal Hospital for a few months while Elgin Animal Clinic was being constructed.

Dr. Dhillon was born and raised in Punjab, India. Dr. Dhillon and his wife, Sukhjit Dhillon, have been married since 1992. They have a son, Ekamjeet Dhillon, and a daughter, Anureet Dhillon.
