SOTX BJJ is a New Orleans Louisana (NOLA BJJ) affiliate. Located behind Denny's on university within the Jackson Plaza. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), is a great way to learn about self defense while also developing physical and mental fitness. In other words, it's more than a sport or a form of fighting; it is a vehicle for personal development.
South Texas Brazilian Jiu Jitsu offers the Edinburg, Texas area's ideal place to learn BJJ, whether you're a beginner or an expert, a child or an adult. At our gym, you will train with the best Jiu Jitsu practitioners Edinburg has to offer in a safe, fun, family friendly atmosphere.

Ray and his lovely children Kayla and Raymundo Jr have Been training with me a little over a year. He is constantly on the road but when he is home, he is on the mats with his family. Congratulations to one of our veterans Shad Schutte for placing 2nd in Gi and 3rd in Absolute. Training is essential for him, he has a career in law enforcement and participates in occasional marathons. I’ve have the pleasure of coaching Shad and His baby boy Sean. Training is definitely a family thing. 🙅🏽♂️
Congratulations to Isac Garza for placing 3rd in Gi. Isac is a Sophomore at Robert Vela H.S. It’s been a pleasure coaching this kid. He is a hard worker, very discipline for his age, and has the desire to “get better daily”.
Congratulations to Antonio Barrientos for place 1st in Gi. Tony is one of the hardest working dudes I know, he trains 6x a week, and he inspires to become RN one day. With his work ethic I have no doubt he will achieve all his goals. Awesome work brotha 🙅🏽♂️
Congratulations Jovanni Perez for place 2nd in Gi. He is a Junior at Edinburg North H.S. He had the opportunity to step up and compete against a blue belt from San Antonio and was down on points but the Jio fought back and unleashed a string of attacks at rapid pace and almost had match as the time expires. Needless to say I was very proud of this young man performance. 🙅🏽♂️ Awesome work
Congratulations to one of our We Defy sponsored athletes Alberto Pena for placing 1st in Gi and 2nd in NoGi. Alberto manages to work full time, train 5x a week and competes once every 3 months and he is a dedicated family man. It’s always great to see his support at home. Awesome work brotha 🙅🏽♂️
