2019 AFMA Golf Day

Earlier this month, team members with Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health – Sub-Saharan Africa participated in the Animal Feed Manufacturers Association - AFMA's annual golf day in Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa. Kemin is proud to support an organization that strives for sustainability in the feed industry, responsible action within the food chain and safe feed for safe food.

During the Iowa State Fair, the Iowa Foundation For Agricultural Advancement (IFAA) surprised Kemin founders R.W. and Mary Nelson with the 2019 Friend of the IFAA honor. The special recognition commemorates the Nelsons’ outstanding service and dedication to the IFAA. IFAA was established in 1987, and R.W. and Mary began supporting the organization the very next year. They established the Bart Nelson Memorial Sheep Scholarship, a $3,000 award given to an incoming collegiate freshman with a strong background in sheep projects and activities. For more than 30 years, R.W. and Mary have attended the Sale of Champions at the Iowa State Fair, and each year Kemin has purchased a Grand or Reserve Grand Champion lamb from a 4-H or FFA exhibitor. Congratulations to R.W. and Mary on this special recognition!
