Description
Columbia Crossing is managed by Susquehanna Heritage as your gateway to the Susquehanna Riverlands and trailhead for the Northwest River Trail. Columbia Crossing River Trails Center is located in Columbia River Park at the southern trailhead for the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail. This beautiful waterfront facility was opened by the Borough of Columbia in 2015 and is managed by Susquehanna Heritage, a regional non-profit organization that is also the designated manager of the Pennsylvania Heritage Area that includes Lancaster and York Counties.
Services offered at Columbia Crossing include visitor information, maps, guides, exhibits and programs about Columbia and the Susquehanna Riverlands, along with public restrooms and an outside covered picnic area. The building is located on the old site of the lumber yard owned by William Whipper, one of the original founders of the Underground Railroad.
Columbia and the Susquehanna Riverlands have a rich history and outstanding outdoor recreation opportunities with lots of great attractions to experience. Columbia Crossing is the place to start your visit to historic Columbia and the scenic Susquehanna Riverlands.

Columbia Crossing/ River Park now has a bicycle repair station! This handy station has various tools to assist with minor repairs and a hand-pump to inflate tires. This station and the water fountain were possible thanks to a Susquehanna Riverlands Mini Grant.

Iron Furnace Group Trail Ride
This Sunday you can learn about the important role that the Susquehanna River played in the 19th Century Industrial Revolution during our Iron Furnace Bike Tour. SUSQ Campers did a fantastic job of cleaning up the river today on their paddle! All of this in one small stretch of our river... including two tires and even a frying pan! Future river stewards taking care of our special river resource.
Great first day of SUSQ Camp! Our crew of campers ages 12-15 got out on the river today, and everyone learned how to get back into their kayak if they fall out. This week is already shaping up to be a fun adventure on the river!
