The utility keeps track of the causes of all outages, and the 2016 report shows birds, animals and snakes accounted for 27% of the outages. Overhead equipment failure caused 22% of the outages, and the weather played a role in 19% of the outages. MESO is an electric utility trade association representing cities in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas. Tom Rider, MESO General Manager, presented the award to the CMLP employees. Rider emphasized the training and development of staff and the increased funding for reliability which continues to result in excellent performance of the utility. “Local control means local crews which means a fast response time. Park Clean Up - June 4
New swings hung, shrubs trimmed, mulch spread, trash picked up, some picnic tables sealed, bleacher boards replaced - these projects kept volunteers busy at the park clean up this afternoon. Coordinated by the Park Advisory Board, most of the work was at Pfister Park, however, a crew was at Walter Johnson Park replacing boards on the bleachers by the horseshoe pits. The local Girl Scout Daisy troop picked up trash all around the park. Two of the three newly purchased handicapped swings were installed. These swings, along with wheelchair swings, were purchased with donations from Coffeyville Resources, Leadership Coffeyville 2009 class and a grant from the Coffeyville Area Community Foundation. Thanks to all who spent an afternoon working to clean up and beautify our parks.
