Already into his budding career, 2017 graduate Kyle Bailey has previously worked behind the scenes on hundreds of projects, assisting in production of songs by big-name artists such as Macklemore, Frank Ocean, Mariah Carey, and the Seattle Symphony. “My love of music drew me to choose my path,” Bailey said. “Now, instead of focusing on my own music, I can help people achieve new heights with their own.”

"At 3,670 acres, Bidwell Park is by most estimates the ninth-largest city park in the nation — more than three times the size of Golden Gate Park, more than four times the size of Manhattan’s Central Park. How a medium-size college town in the Sacramento Valley ended up with the ninth-biggest park in the country involves some larger-than-life figures from its past."

A message to our students from President Gayle Hutchinson: We are saddened to report that University Police responded to an incident this morning after a report someone fell from one of the stairwells in Butte Hall at approximately 8:35 a.m. It appears to be a suicide, but the investigation is ongoing and there has not been a determination on the cause of death at this time. While the release of information may feel slow, we are doing our best to follow law enforcement protocols and respond to the needs of campus. In light of this tragedy, I want to confirm that classes in Butte Hall will remain cancelled until further notice. Classes will remain open elsewhere in order for students to engage with classmates and faculty they know and care about. It’s important for students to feel like they have a place to go with people they trust and can affirm their sense of belonging. We understand that you may have apprehensions or discomfort about coming to class. While recognizing that possibility, I encourage that if you can, you do come to class if you feel comfortable doing so. However, we have advised faculty to express leniency in their attendance policies. Please communicate directly with your faculty regarding your attendance. If you feel you need to take a break, please do so. Crisis counseling services are available for students, faculty, and staff in the Bell Memorial Union Auditorium until 5 p.m. today. After 5 p.m. tonight, counseling services will be available in The Hub in University Housing. Additionally, students can also access free urgent walk-in services at the Counseling and Wellness Center located in Student Services Center Room 430. The Counseling Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. For more information, call 898-6345 or go to www.csuchico.edu/counseling/. We will continue to update and provide additional information as it becomes available.
