The Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum's mission is to cultivate and preserve the Western legacy of Cheyenne Frontier Days. The history of the world's largest outdoor rodeo and western celebration comes alive at the Cheyenne Frontier Days™ Old West Museum. A premier cultural and historical center, the Museum offers year-round education programs and rotating historic artifact exhibits that celebrate the heritage of the American West and the thrilling history of the world's first extreme sport.
The Museum features some of the most intriguing western artifacts in the region including one of the most extensive collections of carriages west of the Mississippi. Transport yourselves through the great adventure of the “World’s Largest Outdoor Rodeo and Celebration” with a visit to our brand new exhibit – Cheyenne Frontier Days: A Frontier Phoenix. The new exhibit captures the drama and the romance of the very first rodeo in 1897 unveiling how CFD has grown and changed over the years.
The newly renovated gallery has interactive exhibits, artifacts and new displays that showcase how CFD has persevered through adversity due to the dedication of many passionate individuals. Trace the history of the rodeo from 1897 through 1907 and discover the characters that bring this history to life including wild bucking stock, steadfast volunteers, early pioneer families, and don’t forget the cowboys and cowgirls.
A variety of cultural programs throughout the year also allow visitors of all ages to step back in time and experience Cheyenne's history Let the kids explore the newly renovated interactive children's gallery and visit the museum store for western gifts and rodeo souvenirs. For an hour or two, travel back in time and relive the western legend.

Yesterday, the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum staff celebrated their wonderful volunteers with a Holiday Luncheon. As is our tradition, we sang them a song.
The Wyoming Arts Council attended our "Native Realities" Game Night! We had a great turnout for Ehdrigohr, a role-playing game. If you haven't seen the exhibit yet, come by and visit the CFD Old West Museum!
The call for nominations deadline for the 2018 Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame is approaching. Get your nominations in by December 31!

The final free event we are planning in conjunction with the Native Realities exhibit is a free book club night on January 11, 2018. Contact Megan Hesser at megan.hesser@oldwestmuseum.org to register and order your books! We are excited to see you there and discuss books that are displayed in our exhibit!
For our final Winter Workshop of the season, we have a gift-making session! This means: NO PARENTS ALLOWED! You can finish your shopping while the kids make a gift for you. Please bring 6-12 4"x6" or 3.5"x5" photos and a list of some important dates. Kids will leave with a gift wrapped and ready to put under the tree. Cost is $5 per person for Museum members and $10 for non-members. Seating is limited, RSVP to reserve your spot for either event, megan.hesser@oldwestmuseum.org or call 778-7289!
