Mecklenburg County was formed in 1762 from the western part of Anson County and the first official governmental action took place in February 1763.

This Saturday (11/4), you can bring your paper documents to one of two facilities to have it shredded safely: 1. Compost Central and Recycling Center (140 Valleydale Rd) 2. Foxhole Recycling Center (17131 Lancaster Hwy) The event is for residential paper documents only and residents are limited to the equivalent of three banker boxes worth of paper.
