A day full of fun to celebrate our pioneer past! Join us on Penn Farm and celebrate our pioneer past! Back on the farm, Lucinda Penn would host an annual social for friends and family from all around to get together, catch up, talk about the harvest, and celebrate HER birthday! This was a lasting tradition on Penn Farm from the 1890s until the 1920s! Here at Cedar Hill State Park, we continue to celebrate the pioneers that made the great state of Texas what is is today with our annual Harvest Heritage Day on Penn Farm! Enjoy many farm related activities from 10 AM to 4 PM! Penn Farm Tours with Neighbor Lauren at 10 AM and 2:30 PM Butter Churning Demo on the porch of the farm house at 11:30 AM Dutch Oven Birthday Cake cooking at 1 PM There will be several come and go booths to enjoy as well including- Fossil Touch Table, Farm Artifacts Touch Table, Egg and Spoon Race, Three-Legged Race, Prairie Talks, and crafts for the kiddos! Meet at Penn Farm Cost: Regular park admission fees apply: no additional charge for activity participation.

Cedar Hill State Park is looking for volunteers to help with the annual Harvest Heritage Festival, Saturday October 21st. Volunteers will help with historic games including sack races and bean bag toss, make crafts such as stick dolls, and help staff the information booth. 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM and 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM times needed. All volunteers must sign liability waiver. Ages 13 and up. Those ages 13-16 must have parent or guardian volunteering with them at all time. The main boat ramp at Cedar Hill State Park is OPEN. The heavy equipment is finished moving back and forth across the area, the docks and marina building has been removed, and the concrete has been chunked up and taken out. The temporary restroom buildings are not quite ready yet, but there are porta-potties by the ramp for those who need them.
