Raising a Future King the Montessori Way: All About Prince George's Preschool

Beginning stages of planning--thinking of becoming credentialed as a VPK provider. We would offer only summer free VPK to kids entering kindergarten in August 2016 who had not yet applied for or redeemed their school year voucher. The Montessori blend VPK program would be located in east Delray Beach at Cason United Methodist Church on Swinton and Lake Ida. Our middle school (Palm Beach South Middle School) will be there in the fall and we would do VPK only in the summer session. We would have 4 classes, 12 kids per class, each with a teacher and an aide. Program is mandatory 300 hours, no part-time (6 hours day, 5 days week, 30 hours week, 10 weeks. I'm thinking of 9-12, 12-1 lunch/recess, 1-4). Field trips are included in the 300 hours, which was awesome to hear. VPK is not based on financial need--it is free and regulated for all kids entering kindergarten whether you are planning for public, private, or home school. Winter Term starts today! Changes below... We've been open in this location for three months now and we are entering a new term today. It has been wonderful seeing repeat visitors and meeting new people. Being in this mall location has been a bit of a learning curve, since hours are dictated by the mall's hours, etc. We tried out a few programs and ideas we had during these three months to see what works best. Please note the following information and/or changes, effective immediately. We will update our website soon and send an email with the same information-- WEEKEND OPEN PLAY HOURS Starting our next weekend session (Jan. 16/17) and thereafter, our weekend hours are-- Saturday 10-1 Sunday 1-4 Please note our website for the schedule--which is typically every other weekend. CLASSES Now 9:30-9:55 and 1:05-1:30, reduced to 25 minutes and $5 each, which gives us time to get inside and settle down, ready to begin right away. We are still including all activities such as welcome parachute song, circle time, story, craft/art, goodbye song, and graduation party at end of term. Must enroll in full term, mid-term enrollment will be prorated but must register for following term. Previous class enrollment will be credited towards the new pricing. Classes begin next week. RETURN PLAY IN AFTERNOON We've always had the afternoon play session as a completely different session, but we are now allowing am 10-1 visitors to return the same day during the pm 4-7 session, but only for those who paid full price in the morning (or those with unlimited play passes). Additionally, anyone may leave and return within one 10-1 or 4-7 session at no readmission charge. DROP & SHOP Regular program hours begin next week. Will now be in the Move & Groove party room (around the corner by Sears) and must be reserved and paid 24 hours in advance. Please pay at the facility in advance, over the telephone, or online. Tuesday & Thursday 10-1 & 4-7. BIRTHDAY PARTIES If you currently have a booked party, the package you purchased is your package, not what is reflected on the website. We are currently making changes, reflected on the website, but the custom package we have designed for you and emailed to you is the default description of your party--not what is on the website. Birthday party parents are reminded to arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before the party to set up. Any extensions for the party must be made in advance so we can accommodate our schedule. SICK ADULTS AND CHILDREN Just a reminder as a courtesy to our guests and staff, if you or your child are sick, it's in everyone's best interest to come back when you are well. Also, adults must sanitize hands when entering the play area as well as children. If your child put something in his or her mouth, please do not return it to the play floor and put it in the yellow bucket on the counter. We will honor all previous cash, online, or credit card purchases if you bring your receipt to us.
