Believe you can and you’re halfway there. Who do you know that does not believe in themselves, but you believe in them? (tag them) If you are reading this post it is because someone believes in you, more than you believe in yourself so here is what I encourage you to do… Harness their belief for however long you need until you start to see what they see. It’s important to think about your vision, but I also think that many people get stuck in vision mode and forget about the reality of their current existence. A vision is manifested by taking consistent and strategic action in real-time. What is an action you will take TODAY that will get you closer to your vision? #strengthinnumbers #SinFitness #yourfitnessfamily

I find that people who experience mediocrity in life have either chosen NOT to dream or deliberately PREVENT themselves from dreaming. I believe everyone is destined to achieve greatness but the problem is that too many people quit too soon. #strengthinnumbers #SinFitness #yourfitnessfamily

The March/April Check in for Charity is brought to you by our members, Wes. Wes was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome at the age of 7. As a child Wes struggled with things most of us take for granted, such as: attending school, playing sports, going shopping, etc. Fortunately, his parents spent countless hours meeting with school administrators to ensure that staff and students were educated on his condition. This included what Tourette syndrome is and what it looked like from Wes' point of view. It was important that his classmates knew to treat him like they would anyone else and to understand that he had no control over the movements or sounds he made. He has tried many different medications and therapies, but it remains a work in progress because there is still much more research to be done and new therapies to be tested. As an adult Wes feels compelled to be an advocate for others with Tourette Syndrome and to keep a positive attitude. Continued support and awareness for Tourette Syndrome is important for the health and wellbeing of many children and young adults throughout our community and country. Tourette Syndrome not only impacts the child and their family but all those around them in everyday life. Your Check-ins will help others like Wes in our community who struggle with Tourette Syndrome. For more info check out the link below https://www.tourette.org/chapter/ct/E

Diana Florio Beardsley is our SIN member of the month. Diana joined Strength in Numbers last year. We vividly remember how nervous she was her on first day. Like many other newbies, she feared that wouldn’t be able to keep up. But she quickly proved herself wrong and became an active, awesome and successful member of our SIN Family. Now Diana participates in challenges, team competitions and Total SIN. Diana is the true definition of a SIN member-someone who constantly cheers on her fellow SINners, always makes everyone feel welcome and constantly inspires those around her with her hard work and dedication. This past month she PRed in deadlift and strict press. Next on her list is the rower. Don’t worry it will come! We have truly enjoyed watching Diana become stronger and more confident in the gym. We are so lucky to have her as part of our Fitness Family! Check out her interview below! How long have you been coming to Strength in Numbers? I have been coming to Strength in Numbers for exactly 1 year this month! Do you remember your first workout? I remember as I was walking up to the door thinking I was crazy trying to join this gym with such high intensity workouts! That was the last time I felt unsure about my ability to be successful in my fitness journey at S.I.N. I remember Jamie being very patient as she taught me every little thing (over and over and over again) as I had never done a burpee or a squat in my life! Did I use weights, did I finish everything NO; but I remember at the end of the workout feeling positive energy from the endorphins flowing and feeling so welcome and supported by the other members. How would you describe your lifestyle before Strength in Numbers? How would you describe it now? I always walked, either in the woods with my dog or on the treadmill. I didn't have a lot of energy and would get tired and irritable easily. My metabolism was slowing, my eating habits were monotonous and not the healthiest in terms of strengthening my bones and muscles. Now I have much more energy, my mood is better; I have learned to eat more protein and I have more muscles then I have ever had my entire life. If you could design your perfect workout what would it be? Honestly, my perfect workout would be something that constantly changes because I get BORED SO EASILY! Oh yeah, S.I.N.'s daily workouts change every 4 weeks; there are YGIG, TABATAS, super sets, challenges, kick fit, SALLY and the 12 days of Christmas, so I already get the perfect workouts each week at S.I.N. ! If I had to choose, tire flipping, pull-ups and deadlifts are my favorite as they make me look the most bad-ass (? can I say that?). What advice would you give to anyone thinking of starting at Strength in Numbers? Don't focus on your doubts but on your potential! Once you get started you will learn for yourself no one is judging or trying to outdo each other. If you like competing against yourself and working out in a supportive, positive and fun environment just join! I opened that door a year ago and since then S.I.N. has had such a positive impact on my life on so many levels! Just open the door and walk in!
