KPFA Apprenticeship Program - First Voice Media
Description
First Voice Media is an apprenticeship program at KPFA 94.1 FM where apprentices receive training in radio journalism, professional broadcasting, line production, media making and much more.
This intensive program spans from 15 to 18 months and apprentices take classes from 7 to 9:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursday taught by skilled broadcasters, sound engineers, social media experts and activists. Apprentices also help produce content for KPFA and must commit to one 3 hour shift on either Monday, Thursday or Friday.
First Voice Media aims to cultivate a community of collaboration and chooses to represent diverse communities. Women and people of color are strongly encouraged to apply. For more information on the application process check out kpfaapprentice.org
